LOTUS/LILY STREET CAR PARTY!!
It’s time once again for the annual streetcar party!! A night of mayhem and debauchery for a third year in a row!
The ladies of Lotus AND Lily are inviting anyone interested in celebrating the end of the summer season AND/OR having a great time. After a long summer of practices, traveling to tournaments, neglecting non-ultimate friends/family, and playing hard no matter what the weather we ALL deserve it!So please join us the evening of Thursday, November 23rd for a night of streetcar partying, bar hopping, boozing, and boogieing! Fantastic live entertainment on a privately booked streetcar and cool refreshments will be available onboard to start the night off right. The streetcar will take us to a bunch of bars over the course of the evening.
Tickets to participate in this event are 20 bucks and you can purchase a ticket from Miss Kat Fadelle kmfadelleAThotmailDOTcom / 416-716-5403 (cell). This ticket purchase will also include a draw for some prizes.
In the meantime, for more information you can contact Mon at missmonisATrogersDOTcom or if you are interested in attending please contact Kat. We’d like to determine numbers before the big day so we can get an appropriate sized streetcar!
Please note: This is NOT a team fund-raising event. Ticket costs are to cover the rental fee of the streetcar among other amenities.
Hope to see you out!

The Crazy 88's 18th @ Goosebowl!!!
Dearest All...
My apologies for taking so long to update the page, it's been one hell of a week. I just wanted to send my thank yous to one of the most stylish team’s I’ve ever captained. To everyone who came out and braced the cold, wet, muddy, and windy weather just in the name of Ultimate…
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
Big ups and thank yous to Eric, Sarah and Lise for housing everyone, our muddy gear and smelly cleats. Thank you Rich and Stephanie for picking up with the team, to Tracey for constantly making sure I haven’t passed out from shivering so violently, and to Kelly for the field photos. You’re such a trooper…standing out in the rain all day cheering us on.
From Allan taking Nate’s knee in the eye, to boys chasing Kim’s booty at the party, defacing The Warriors flag, splashing layouts, to Ian and Nate partying so damn hard!! Great weekend everyone, and a wonderful end to a fantastic touring season!!
Hope to see you guys in the near future…Winter league registration is just around the corner…keep checking the site for more info and let me know if you wanna play!! ;)
Much love,
~B
P.S. Please let me know if I haven't recieved your $32 dollars....don't make me hunt you down :) baybeeduckieAThotmailDOTcom

TEAM HALLOWEEN THEME:
We are going retro as members of the 80's band Devo, for practical reasons as well as creative ones :D (Though most of the team probably has never heard of the band). Everyone shall build their own costume and Devo hats. Try to be creative :) If you don't have much time, you can just bring a black and a white shirt, but Devo hats are mandatory!! :)
Traditionally, Goosebowl is muddy and cold. Just came back from Waterloo's Oktoberfest and we basically played in freezing rain, hail, snow, rain, more snow, more hail in 30km winds. Not my favorite kinda weather but just a lil reminder to bring lots of warm gear if not your favorite poison; Ick to nasty Jäger, but Bourbon tends to warm well :)
SPIRIT PRIZES:
Something hot and yummy with freshly whipped cream to go with our theme. (Don't worry about this, it will be taken care of.)
RIDES/ACCOMMODATIONS
Please answer the following using the comment box.
1) WE NEED A TEAM NAME IDEA...Any suggestions?
2) Do you need a lift to Kingston?
3) Can you provide a ride to Kingston? If yes, how many can you take?
4) Do you need a place to stay?
5) Can you provide a place to stay? If yes, how many can you accommodate?
6) Do you care to do a team meet and greet this weekend for some tossing before Kingston? (Assuming the weather will co-operate).
ATTN: As of right now, you all owe me team fees; even if you bail. Two weeks left and I can't wait until my body heals from the Okto-fest hang over.
I will keep everyone posted on details!
Cheers!

FYI Fall Season & Tournaments
So fall season league wise...
Can't pool together a team; I have pently of boys, no girls...So every man for themselves fer the fall. However, I am looking to make this winter team happen. I'm sick of hat teams so hopefully we'll have enough core Breakfast of Champs players that are interested and maybe pick up one or two extras.
Also, the last leg of tournaments for the season are coming up.
Oktoberfest Waterloo, ON - October 15th-16th
http://www.wods.ca/oktoberfest/
Goosebowl Kingston, ON - October 28th-29th
http://www.goosebowl.blogspot.com/
Traditionally, both tournaments have held their own in competition and spirit. And have hosted the best parties. Honestly, bratwurst, beer, and polka @ Oktoberfest in Loo...and THE Hallowe'en party in Kingston...what more can I say :D
Let me know if your interested.

Good Beavers = Good Times :)
On behalf of Eric and I, we thank you boys and girls for a great season! It's been a fun summer with lots of insanity, shits n' giggles. Though our Tier 6 outtings were slighty shot, we did reach the goals set in the beginning the season. Had lots of fun in Tier 8 and Rocked Tier 7 with lots of spirit and smiles. I hope this season was a great learning experience and everyone enjoyed their time both on and off the field. I look forward to sharing the field with everyone again.
For those who missed the team dinner...we did awards... :)
BOC's TUC SUMMER SEASON 2006
Most Valuable Player - Derek Densmore; Just because you keep so quiet, doesn't mean no one's watching :) Not only do you consistantly play well each game, you come out with an open mind and high spirits. Always wanting to play, wanting to learn and always playing hard. Keep up the good work & thanks for a great season!
I will speak to my Monday night captain about merging teams for fall outdoor. I'll send out emails to those who want to play. Also I'll occasionally update this site as tournments come and go during the fall and winter seasons so come check out postings!!
Thanks a bunch!
Cheers!

I believe there is also a Red Lobster in the same plaza...Sean? ;) Regardless. Team dinner, so no flaking out come even if you can't make it to the game! Yorkdale Station is just blocks away. No excuses :D
Who's playing and who isn't? I've forgotten what people have told me.

I'll show you Spirit Fingers!
When:Wednesday Aug 30th, 2006 @ 6:30pm
Where:Sir Winston Churchill Reservoir
Who:Spirit Fingers
What to Bring:Money please.
Why does the team name sound so familiar? Because we've played them before in Tier 7 and won. Mind you it was off a universe point so don't think we can walk over this game. They have yet to win a game in tier 6 so the match up should be fun!!
I know Jones and Rhea are out. Who else isn't going to make this game? Juniors, I need you ladies...These fields are TTC able ;)
Let me know!
Directions Provided by TUC
By Car:
Take your favourite north-south road to St. Clair Ave. If you're coming from Bathurst St. or west, turn east on St. Clair. From Avenue Rd. or east, turn west on St. Clair. The park is located on the south side of St. Clair Ave. W. right between Bathurst St. and Avenue Rd.
There is construction on St. Clair during the summer of 2006. Some or all lanes may be closed, causing congestion or invalidating these driving directions. Details may change from week to week. See the City of Toronto Road Restriction Report (PDF file) for current information.
By TTC:
Take the University-Spadina line up to St. Clair West station. Come to street level and make the short walk east to the park.

Yeah Hot Tub!!
Ok, no more frisbee talk. Last game was a big joke and I'll walk away knowing that we...are better... :) How do I know that? We have big wig players like Eco...can you say Handler? We have speed demons like Sean; yeah double happiness! Kieran and Allan...catching discs on their backs! And our hot sexy ladies always making it all look so easy.
Plus, what kinda league team gets pool time and hot tubness after a game? We do! Booyah! In your face!
Sorry, I had my open shift this morning...a lil too much caffine...
Anyways, thank you Mike fer having us romping around your home. The season is slowly coming to an end and for those who I won't be seeing for a while, thanks fer a great season. I believe we have two more games...Lets finish big...
Cheers!
Bon

Thanks fer pushing me into the pool Jones...that was really sweet of you...Grrr

Long Overdue...
Breakfast of Champs,
It's been a long few months and it's time I feel that I need to let the team know about a few issues I've been dealing with. Privately, I've been going through the crossroads and transitions in life. It’s so stupidly cliché, yet it’s been harder than I thought it would be more so because I’ve overloaded and have now bitten off way more than I can chew. I know those close to me have called me out on this early on, but it was something I had to do. I am stubborn; you all know this watching me on the field :) Nonetheless it has caught up with me, and I can’t continue without making a few changes.
After much reflection, as painful as it is, I have decided to take a break from my many commitments and one of them will be Ultimate. The current plan beginning this week is taking a full two weeks off. No league. No practices. No Tournaments. I will return to practicing with Lotus/Lily after the break as Nationals will be in less than four weeks when I go back. I will have to reassess the possibility of my return to the league after this break.
Beginning this week I will have passed my field captaining duties on to Eric and Shawn. I will be running this team on the sidelines; be it postings and admin work or even occasional games. But I can no longer commit and it’d be unfair to the team if I’m not giving 100% on or off the field. I apologize for the blip, but I know the team will survive :) It's been exciting watching the team gel and improve so quickly. I know you guys will continue to up your game as you have in the past. Remember to CUT HARD, CLEAR THE FUCK OUT, & TRUST IN YOUR TEAM MATES. It's been fun :)
Let's fucken rock this tier!!
Biddin' Adieu,
Bonnie

The Morning After...
Dearest Breakfast,
I would argue that last night's game was one of our best game yet. We started out kinda sluggish and was so being schooled by a team with no subs, but we took a few breaths and re-grouped. Two Callahans nothing! WE took the W! Way to clean up our stack and the endzone boys and girls...and those mirror cuts I keep seeing...Sooooo damn sexy! This is how we play! Pumped up, wanting the win yet with constant smiles on our faces. Lost your Metropass? Score a few huge points toeing the lines in endzone!! ;) Throw a Callahan? Get it back with HAWT HAWT D!! Or for shit's and giggles put Bonnie as Deep when we play zone.
Just remember that we all know our fundamentals, how do we know? Recap last night's game! :) Trust in that knowledge, and trust in your teammates. When we keep that in mind as we play, everything will fall into place and our game will be HAWT!! That or we can just keep Eric off the field from now on & we'll probably win everytime....LOL...
Great game!!
Cheers!
Bon & Co.

Superman Doesn't Do Wings
So I was thinking that we could see Superman next Wednesday after the game. We'll need to get a head count so that we can buy tickets in advanced. And we'll also need to know where we're playing to determine which theater to go to. lol, no Wings this week, can't take it any more.
Take care.

Book off work, get outta soccer practice, softball games, etc!! :D
Please let us know if you're available for the weekend...and if you must, let us know ASAP if you can't make it so we can do some recruiting.
Cheers!

Thanks for showing up last night in rain, hail, lightening, etc :D For those who couldn't make it, We played in that. I mean we had pizza @ Allan's place and ran through zone defence and offence. Our game will be rescheduled and I'll let you all know when I know.
Also, because we only ran through zone on paper, we're wondering if anyone interested in practicing/scrimmaging saturday afternoon, say around 3ish? Same practice location. Reply if interested.....we are looking for at least 10 players.
Cheers!

woosahhhh.....oooh sunday scrims!!
SUNDAY (May 28th) for anyone interested... TUC is running a skills clinic, free and open to all members. We don't all need to be there, but anyone looking to brush up on stuff or learn more skills than we have time to teach you should definitely go! I'll try to be there if I don't have work that day.
ALSO...Disciples of Love, a monday tier 4 team, has offered to scrimmage with us on Sundays. I'd like to gather interest to see if we could field a team. Note in advance that on tourney weekends Bon, Eric, Myself, or a combo (or all 3) won't be out for Sundays, but that doesn't mean the rest of the team can't be.

Firstly, I forgot to do this on the field, but may I please get a spirit score outta 5 from each player. Post on the scribble or on the comments list. Thanks!!
Second, GREAT FIRST GAME!! We got a lil shakie when the team slapped us with the zone, but we pulled thru and played some great Ultimate. Taking from this game, our biggest weakness is breaking the zone defence. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to run thru zones @ our practices but we will be learning both zone defence, and offence ASAP. It will be one of the biggest part of Ultimate when the wind starts to blow. Our goal is to learn how to play Cup defence, to learn it well, and to perfect it by season's end.
So enough about basic boo boos. I just wanted to say how wicked it was to see the team gel, constantly adjusting to take what the defence is giving us, great flow, and those stacks in the endzone!!! :D Great cuts, great defence...and I think everyone had touches :)
Thanks ladies and gents, keep it up!

ANYONE UP FOR A ONE DAY TOURNEY??!
Breakfast,
I know this is pretty late notice, but there is a one day tournament in Waterloo, ON next weekend (SATURDAY, MAY 27th, 2006). Just outta curiosity, how many of you are interested? I figured if we can do this, it'll not only help the team gel (as we are guaranteed 5 games), but also allow us to use the chance to teach some plays and see where the team is at.
Don't worry about the registration date & such, as I do have an in if we choose to play. Let me know ASAP whos available. It is only one day, so no worries about having to find a place to stay....But if we do choose to make a weekend out of it, it is also possible...

Pregame Cheer, Individual Training
Hey Kids,
Great practice tonight for those who came. For those who didn't, we're gonna try to run sporadic practices when-we-can but don't count on anything. That said, if you've got the time email Bonnie and even if most of the team and the captains aren't there you can organize a scrim or drills or even just tossing. When you work on stuff, identify the weakest part of your game and target that. If your catching hands are sketchy, have someone throw to you at varying speeds and heights and try running towards the throw. If your throws are weak find that person above and throw to moving targets. If your fitness isn't up to par, go for a run, mirror the stuff we do in practice (if you find it hard to get motivated ask someone to run with you), etc. And hell, if you have time, do it all. Nobody really enjoy's working on or even admitting their weaknesses but it's key to our development as individuals and as a team. As a team we aim to take our weakest players and make them our strongest, and as individuals we should strive to turn our weaknesses into strengths. Finally, if you ever have any issues or concerns with us or the team please do bring them up with us.
Moving on...I always find that having a good enthusiastic pre-game cheer helps to get everyone amped for the game. This is something I came up with tonight, and we'll try to come up with more stuff as we go.
I say...everyone says
WHO ARE WE? ... BREAKFAST!
WHAT ARE WE? ... CHAMPIONS!
WHO ARE WE? ... BREAKFAST!
WHAT'S BREAKFAST? ... BEAVER!

Keeping in Practice
Hey Breakfast,
On behalf of Bon and Eric I want to say thanks to those of you (most of you!) that came out last night. We were all pleasantly surprised over all at how the team looks so far and hope as a team, we can hammer out some of the bugs before the season starts. Once it does start, though, it's unlikely that we'll be able to run such practices regularly if at all. That said, everyone on the team should take it upon themselves to practice and/or "train" on their own or in small groups whenever possible. Go for a run in the morning, get out and even do some suicides (very good cut training). Ok, stop rolling your eyes already! These are just suggestions.
BUT what I do STRESS above all things is whenever you can, pick up a disc and drag someone out to toss.
When you do toss, be sure to work on everything. With that little bit of instruction, you should be able to begin to strengthen both your throws and your catches. We want everyone to have a comfortable and decent flick and backhand, as well as have decent hands for catching and some facility reading a disc's flight. For those that are newer and struggling or even those of us that feel we've got a pretty good grip on the fundamentals, it can't hurt to keep in good practice.
Finally, and again for everyone of every level, read up on and watch ultimate now and then. The links over there on the left are a good start, especially ultimate handbook. If you don't know anyone who has DVDs you can check out http://www.ultimate-trip.com/ for a handful of videos. Supplement your personal throwing practice with reference online, and watch some good ultimate to get amped for games!
If at any point you have any issues or questions regarding us, the team, or anything else, please don't hesitate to bring them out so we can cut you- i mean, deal with it fairly.

TUC and Gaia have created accounts under the email address you've provided for TUC. If you currently have a Gaia account under the same email address, you should find the amount of $10 cdn or ($8 usd) under your gift certificate account.
For those who do not have a Gaia account, or have one under a different email address. You can log onto Gaia with the email address you've provided for TUC. The password for the account is your TUC ID# (the one I've provided you with tonight). For security purposes I will not post that up on the site. If you have misplaced your ID#, email me and I will send it again to you.
Once you've logged onto Gaia, you will have to send your gift certificate to me. Bonnie Lee baybeeduckie(nospam)@hotmail.com
*please remove (nospam) for addy to work. You are allowed to use as much as your certificate as you'd like. Just let me know how much you've used.
If you are having trouble with the password, use Gaia's "forgot your password?" link to generate a new password and you should be able to log in. If you are having any trouble at all, please let me know or give me a shout; blog comment, email, msn, cell etc....
The cost of the jerseys are different individually as we do have elite Gaia members as well as those who have previous credit with Gaia. I will let you all know the cost when I know. I hope this helps, again let me know if you need anything.
Cheers!
Bonnie
Our elite jerseys are currently in the process of being screened and we shall be receiving them early June.

Team Meeting No. One
Our very first meeting and I hope most of you can make it out. It should be a fun filled evening with some light jogging and basic Ultimate chats. Our goal is to have everyone on the same page with basic Ultimate knowledge and skills. As well we want to make sure we all have a chance to meet and toss before the season begins.
When: Wednesday May 10th @ 6:30pm
Where: Paddock Park (Don Mills and Simonston Blvd) (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Don+Mills+and+Simonston+Blvd,+Thornhill+ontario&ll=43.818489,-79.366093&spn=0.01412,0.040555&om=1 )
*FYI: The lil red marker on the map is for the wrong park, Paddock is just a lil more north on the map.
What to bring: Water, cleats, a white and dark shirt.
What to expect: Some running, some tossing, some talking, some chillin'.
We're excited and lookin' forward to meeting the team.
See you all Wednesday!
Cheers!
Bonnie, Eric, & Shawn

"Oh My Gawd! We Have a Blog........."
Welcome Breakfast of Champions to our brand new site where we'll be posting our rants, raves, pre-game checks, post game reviews, schedules, stats, etc., along with all sorts of necessary and/or unnecessary info. Hopefully this will help ease the congestion of spam in your inboxes, and still be able to keep in touch, and have everyone up to date. We will be checking the site fairly frequently, so feel free to leave any questions and/or comments in the comment box so we can post replies.
That said, welcome to the first post of the season.
I'd like to introduce everyone to your leadership squad.

Bonnie Lee no. 9
Height: 5'2"
Positions: handler, mid
Favorite Ultimate Memory: Callahan against Ottawa's Seven, or the into the wind push pass. (The look on Tom's face was priceless.)

Eric Lau no. 2
Height: 5'1"
Positions: handler, mid
Favorite Ultimate Memory: Either foot blocking myself or having the crowd @ Blender chanting for me to do "showtime".

Shawn Lee no. 12
Height: 5'10"
Positions: strike, mid, monster, reverse cowgirl
Favorite Ultimate Memory: Diving off a hill into a parking lot for the catch. It wasn't even a game, but there was a lot of blood.
*****
A brief blurb: Individually, we've been playing Ultimate for at least four seasons and have played for teams of various calibers. In recent years, we’ve toured competitively to various tournaments in Ontario, Quebec and the States.
Eric’s university eastern & national titles with Queen’s make up not only for the lack of height, but is also a great conversation starter with the ladies (or so he likes to believe). Whereas Shawn’s utter lack of titles is still not enough to deter the ladies from his never ending charm (or so he likes to believe). As for Bonnie, her best seasons may just be hiding up her sleeve. With a secured spot on Lotus & Lily (Toronto's number one women's team), her swills may just potentially do some damage...to the opposing team that is... ;)
Ultimate has taken a hold a big part in our lives, and it has always been good times when we’re out on the pitch. Hopefully, we can share not only our passion and knowledge of the game with you, but also a new and exciting experience this summer season.
Cheers!
